NEICE Wins Best of NIEM Award!

The National Electronic Interstate Compact Enterprise (NEICE) administered by the AAICPC and APHSA was recently awarded a 2021 Best of NIEM Award, for Best Implementation of NIEM, for its use of National Information Exchange Model Standards to translate data moving between 43 states for the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children. NEICE was developed by the Association of Administrators of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (AAICPC) and the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), as secretariat for the AAICPC, through a cooperative agreement from the Children’s Bureau. Tetrus Corporation is the technical vendor for the NEICE project. The Best of NIEM awards showcase exceptional examples of NIEM’s implementation.

We are pleased to share our new report – Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Waivers and Adaptations During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Survey of State Agency Perspective in 2020 – co-written with researchers from the Johns Hopkins Institute for Health and Social Policy based at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. This report synthesizes the results from our nationwide online survey with state SNAP administrators that sought to understand the opportunities and challenges to implementing federal waivers during the pandemic.
